My Current Favourite Songs 2

Since it's coming to the end of the month and I totally forgot to do last month's list of favourite songs, might as well post it first before the end of the month comes and goes once again.

So here's this month's current 5 favourite songs:

Meltdown (Hatsune Miku Remix Ver.) - I like the updated beat of this song and how the MV ties both Meltdown videos together, but I do have to admit that Miku certainly can't reach the high notes as well as Rin can.

Private Emotion by Ricky Martin - The P.A. system at my workplace keeps playing a few songs in a loop but I'm often half-ignorant of the music until this song comes on. I usually end up humming along to the music subconciously, but I've loved this song from the beginning anyway.

Be Human (written by Yoko Kanno, not sure who the singer is...) - Rarely in this day and age do I hear a song that moves me and makes me think as much as this song has. It was written for the anime Ghost in the Shell and it sums up quite abit of the entire plot of the show.

Gravity (written by Yoko Kanno, performed by Maaya Sakamoto) - I love listening to this song to unwind after a long day, Maaya's voice somehow always soothes and relaxes me. Some of you may know Maaya as the voice actress of Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club and many other various anime. This is also the ending song of one of my favourite animes ever, Wolf's Rain. Its animes like this that prove that anime isn't simply a japanese form of cartoons for kids.

Tatta Hitotsu no Omoi by KOKIA - This song is definitely on of my all-time favourites. I often listen to a few songs repeatedly for a certain time frame before moving onto new ones and hardly ever touching the old songs again, but this song is one that I always listen to. It's the opening song to the anime Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino, another favourite anime of mine and another anime that makes you think. I like the MV alot and been wanting to get a camera that can produce the same effect in photographs, I can just never get what is this effect called. Damn...

Graduation!

Walking into the auditorium to be seated and await my turn to receive my certificate...
One of the better photos with my friends, as you can see, I'm probably the one with the lightest hair colour amongst my peers, you could probably pick me out amongst the crowd simply from it.
Another major event that happened in my life is that I have finally graduated from Polytechnic!

I attended my graduation ceremony and it was a pretty short and simple affair. I was actually expecting more from it, but oh well....
Now I just have to plan out what to do from here on...

Andrea Boccelli Concert

The view from my spot, despite it being so packed, there was enough space for every inidividual to have some personal space and no one was blocking anyone's view of the screen.

A great many things have happened since the last time I blogged, one of which was having the opportunity to actually watch Andrea Boccelli perform "live".

The sad thing was that I could only watch his performance via huge screens whilst sitting down on wet grass as the performance area was reserved for the VIPs and such. But hey, since its free and technically he was performing as I watching, it wasn't too bad.

The organisation that brought him in was also pretty considerate, I was simply expecting some people to shove us into the allocated areas in front of the screens, but they actually provided us with goodie bags loaded with useful things such as bottled water, snacks and even a mosquito repellant patch, which was a great lifesaver.

Despite, the heat, humidity, soggy wet grass and such, I was glad to have been able to watch the performance. All the more so when they announced that it was the last Asian performance that Andrea Boccelli was ever gonna have.

It was one unforgettable night....

New Hair colour

Rinka's new hair colour, I feel that my new colour is pretty similar, but maybe a tad lighter

After nearly 2 months of tolerating horrid roots, I finally went to dye my hair and get a quick trim.

Why the wait? That's because I wanted my colour to be as "fresh" as possible for my poly graduation ceremony which happens this Thursday. I kindda have the urge to really dress up in order to rub my nose into the faces of the people who made my life hell there, but at the same time, a little voice in the back of my head keeps reminding me to stop being so juvenile and simply move on.

I had to dye my hair alittle darker thanks to my job's restrictions, so instead of having a blondish dye as always, my hairstylist decided to make it more brown instead this time, but with ashy tones to still give it abit of an edge. He did help me bend the rule abit by saying that the hair colour will lighten slowly over time, so I'll still have light hair in the end, but at the same time I won't be getting any evil eyes from my superiors. Now I just have to stay away from swimming pools to avoid getting a sudden bleached out effect from the chlorinated water.

Unfortunately, no pictures of my current hair colour thanks to my busy schedule and I was half falling asleep during the entire dyeing process, but I think that Rinka's new hair colour does resemble mine.

On a sad note, my current hairstylist may leave Singapore permanently to run his own shop either back in his hometown or in Australia. I do actually want to wish him success but a small part of me wishes something will go wrong and he'll remain here for awhile longer as he's the best hairstylist I've ever had in my life (no, really!). So I'm crossing my fingers and gonna see what the future will bring.

Personal outfit 26

My outfit that night (pardon my super messy room, I forgot to photograph my outfit that night and ended up doing so only after getting home):
Denim dress: Series
Scarf used as belt: borrowed from mom
Pearl necklace: borrowed from mom
Nine West brown suede bag: gift from mom's friend
White rose ring: Topshop
Was inspired by Kimicky's outfit in last month's Popteen, unfortunately the belt place alot of emphasis on my boobs and not in a good way...

Last week, I spent an evening with my family to celebrate my mom's birthday. We went to this Japanese restaurant which had been raved about by plenty of magazines and newspaper articles, but I personally didn't find much hoo-haa to rave about. The food was decent, the service was fine but the price was bit too high for having decent and fine service and food. I doubt I'll ever set foot in that restaurant again.

We also watched Iron Man 2 later in the night and was it just me but did Scarlet Johnhanssen lose weight? She looked really hot in the film and my eyes kept fixating themselves on her, to that point where I got annoyed whenever Gwyneth Paltrow got any air time.

Anyway, despite Dollywink coming to Singapore soon, I cracked and bought the lower lashes online. I would have bought the upper lashes too if it weren't for the fact that they were completely sold out by the time I got online. I also bought a pair of Candy Magic Barbie King brown lenses, I'm hoping they'll be as good if not better then my current Max Pure browns.

Argh been shopping online too much lately, and now I feel the urge to shop for clothes and shoes too! But my priority is to get a nice graduation ceremony outfit, the rule is to get "formal" aka office appropriate wear so its really trickey... any ideas?

Dolly Wink is Back!!!!

Hands up all ladies who love Dollywink! Now did any of you miss the chance to get your hands on Dollywink the last time it was here?

Well fear not! Because I received in my email today, confirmation that Dollywink will once again grace our shores!!! *jumps for joy*

However, as there is still a lack of stocks both in Japan and internationally, Dollywink will once again be only sold for a single week or until stocks have run out. I have confirmed that Dollwink will be sold in the month of June, but as the dates and times are still subject to change, I'll update the final confirmation on a later date. However, it will once again be sold only in Ngee Ann City's Watson store, so ladies, better start saving your cash to splurge on some Dollywink!!

P.S. a little birdie told me that there is a chance that Candy Doll may also make its debut appearance in Singapore. So lets cross our fingers and hope that the birdie was right about it!
