Uta Prince All Stars Shoot

I just came home from another shoot that I'm itching to write about, but I'm once again behind on posts. I apologise for the delay in posts again and I'm trying really hard to catch up, but a lot of things have been happening in my life recently. I will sit down and write bout it once I get the chance, but for now, I'm gonna talk about the recent Uta Prince shoot I did.

On the way to the photographer's apartment, brought my squishy Mameshiba along for company
After makeup and changing into costume and wearing my wig! We did the all-star version
With Tessie as smexy Ren

With Kitska, she's cosplaying super lovable Natsuki, and some random person photobombing with their hand... think its Tessie LOL
Esther as super cute Syo!! Ah! How to resist her cuteness! I mean his... uh you get my drift... XD
With Mini, she's cosing straight-laced Masato. Tessie photobombing in the background with a hilariously derpy face

Mameshiba became friends with Kitska's Wooser toy! LOL
Some of our props for the day. We ripped apart fake roses to get the petals, it was pretty good for stress relief hahah

We did a lot of individual character shots as well as some concept ideas we had seen from illustrations and such. Midway through the shoot, Tessie, Kits and Mini changed to other Uta Prince characters.
Tessie transformed to Tokiya while Kits reappeared as Otoya!

Mini became Cecil once more. I think she looks really good as Cecil

Group camwhore after the entire shoot! Thanks a lot to our fantastic photographer William!

On the whole, the shoot was pretty laid back and fun. We're now trying to get a full team of Shining all Stars including the Senpais, so that we can do a huge group shoot in the future!

I'm still waiting for Esther and the rest to finish editing the pictures since my editing skills are pretty... umm... questionable hahaha, but in the mean time, have a look at these completed ones as a mini preview.

I've got plenty more posts to write about and since I will be having a little more spare time to do whatever I want for abit, it should allow me to update this blog more frequently soon. Just stick around and the next post will be up ASAP!

Gantz Photoshoot with Vampybitme

After the whole STGCC event, Vampybitme continued staying for a few extra days doing various shoots. I was lucky enough to assist in one shoot she did with local cosplayer Mintos. They both cosplayed Gantz, I haven't see the movie yet but I heard its pretty gd.

Rescend at work, setting up lights

Photog duty calls

Zander being one with the light stand

We switched locations and took some shots underneath this street lamp. The light and shadows made it look very dramatic.

Highlight of the evening was taking pictures with the Singapore city as the backdrop. Used a smoke machine to give the extra wow! factor.

Looking good!

Goofing off after the shoot

Thanks guys for letting me join the shoot.

We worked pretty hard late at night and into the morning to get the amazing night view of the Singapore cityscape as the backdrop for some of the photos. Vampybitme was really sweet and approachable and I still can't believe how down to earth and friendly she is!

I haven't done night shoots in forever as it screws up my body clock real bad, but the view was really worth it and suited Gantz so well.

Do keep a look out on Vampybitme's online profile as well as Mintos's for the resulting photos!

Singapore Toys, Games & Comics Convention (STGCC) Day 2

Finally getting down to blogging bout my second day at STGCC, sorry guys for the delay!

I cosplayed Azula from the series Avatar: The Last Airbender. She's a insane psychotic bitch but exceedingly cool at the same time. Unfortunately, I didn't pin down a portion of my costume, so most of the pictures are of me with the top part (I don't know what to call it, cowl perhaps?) having shifted to the side. But since the photographers put so much effort into the photos, I'd figure I'll just post them, since hiding the pictures due to my mistake would be totally unfair for them.

Felt old doing this pose, my knees kept cracking half way. Photo by Zhirong

Portrait by William, man I love this shot though my stupid top piece had moved again ugh.

I had previously seen a video of this cosplay group in America called Cosplay in a Box (check them out here and here) "fire" and "water" bending by using a ingenious method of swishing/ waving around cloth to create the idea of the moving element. You can check out their awesome video here

So I uh... okay lets be honest.. copied their idea of using the cloth. The bf helped to create better movement by wrapping the cloth round clear plastic rods and I ripped the cloth apart to create the illusion of flames as the cloth fluttered about in mid air.

It does look pretty good in pics, photo again by Zhirong.

This picture was by Nic Yoon. Took awhile to get the positioning just right as I was madly twirling the cloth around.

I actually have 2 videos of me doing my "bending" but I think my movement is stiffer than the American cosplayers, luckily, Jo told me she'll teach me a few tricks involving Chinese dance, to create better movement and flow in the future.

Anyway, as with every event, there will always be camwhoring.

Steph accompanied me to the event Yay!!! Thanks a lot babe for helping me carry my stuff.

Managed to meet the amazing local cosplayer, Rainer Tachibana. I had heard and seen her creations plenty of times, so it was such joy to finally be able to meet her!

Kiellne and Natsu as Robin and Bat Girl

Bought some gifts for the bf., this one is a pikacu toy that reacts when u stroke its head. Really cute!

Played the lucky dip for Monster Hunter and managed to get this ceramic bowl! It's much larger then I expected.

Bought a few things for myself too!

Super smexy poster of Rivaille/Levi/Heichou, from the talented people behind Moonshine Studios

Pre-ordered Redjuice's art all (all 3 of them) and got the postcards in return. I bought one postcard, the one of the guy on it as Redjuice hardly draws guys

Because I preordered, I also got this lovely paperbag

After lugging my stuff around for 2 days, I finally managed to catch Hold of Redjuice at his booth and requested him to autograph the book. He seemed genuinely shocked when I asked for his autpgraph, LOL wonder why

Managed to meet Vampybit me with Steph this time! We gave to her a goodies bag filled with stuff, if you wanna know what, take a look at Steph's blog

Forgot to show these stuff the bf got for me the last time, so pasting the pic here haha

All the cosplay cards I got during the event

It was definitely more fun the second day as I could wander around freely in my flat heels. But I was bit sad that not many people recognised me and those that did, most said I looked too fierce and scary. Hmm, must have been the makeup.

Sadly, my favourite event only lasts 2 days, however I am looking forward to next year!! I've already confirmed who I'll be cosplaying for next year's STGCC, that's how much I love this event.

Singapore Toys, Games & Comics Convention (STGCC) Day 1

Backdated post but whatever... I attended the Singapore Toys, Games and Comics Conventions last week so here's a quick recap on Day1.

I cosplayed Awashima Seri from the hit series, K. Been wanting to do her for awhile now, so I finally jumped on it when Esther asked me to join her team.

Unflattering photo but whatever, it's the only full one I have of me thus far as the photographers are still processing their batch of photos from the event.

The day was bittersweet as a lot of things happened. First, I actually had a meltdown in the first half of the event as I had built up quite a lot of stress from work and my wig was giving me a lot of issues, it just refused to cooperate with me and I as getting more and more frustrated, so eventually the two resulted in me literally crying and venting out all my pent up feelings. Was really grateful that the bf was there that day, he comforted me through the whole ordeal.

After recovering from the meltdown, I reapplied my makeup and decided to just carry on, despite being half tempted to just pack my bags and go. However, I didn't wanna leave Esther behind as she was my partner that day. Luckily, I didn't leave as I wound up meeting a lot of my old cosplay friends that day, but I didn't camwhore with them, so all the camwhore pics are their own.

With the amazing Jo, looking fabulous as always

Met Thai cosplayer Narutan again! Love love love her Nightwing cosplay!!

I also met this pretty convincing Tiger cosplayer from Japan called Zaki, her partner, Minami was cosplaying from Jojo's Bizarre Adventrue but I Forgot to take a pic :(

Took this picture of the amazing Cvy!! Always in awe at her excellent cosplays and she's so cute and friendly! Check out the horse head, the details are just amazing!

Of course, when one meets Selicia, one must always do something funny to her.

She cosplayed the main character from the series, Devil Survivor. I tied her bunny "ears" to a ribbon on her hoodie.

She didn't realise till much later what I had done LOL, this was after I told her

She was wearing a bowler hat towards the end of the day, so Esther and I took the opportunity to tie her "ears and forced her to wear the hood over her hat hahaha

I didn't wander around as much as I wanted to, partly because I was wearing freaking 13.5cm high platform heels and also because I wasn't quite in the mood to do so and the bf's knee was hurting abit so I didn't want him to fight with the growing crowd. But he did go to the event rather early to help me get some Vampybitme merchandise and this:

Her autographed poster to me!

I got the polaroid later when I found her at her booth and after I took a polaroid with her, I gave her one and asked for another. She was super sweet about it and the best part was, after I signed asked her to autograph the polaroid, she kindly asked me to sign the one I gave her too! She's really such a down-to-earth person and incredibly friendly.

By the end of the day, I managed to recover my mood so I felt better for day 2, which I'll write about soon!

Attack on Piano Concert

Lots of things happened last weekend so I haven't had the time to actually sit down and blog till now. I first attended the Attack on Piano concert last Friday, the concert featured Animenz and Thelshter, who flew from Germany and Canada specially for the concert.

The ticket for the concert. I find it cute that the logo was influenced by the latest hit anime, Shingeki no Kyojin aka Attack on Titan.

With Mini and Selicia. Esther sat at a different row from us because....

We were all decked out in the Shingeki Jacket! The entire row of us wore the jacket and did the salute to show our appreciation for the two amazingly talented painists.

My jacket was an actual COSPA issued jacket that my colleague kindly loaned to me for the event.

Animenz playing a solo beautifully

TheIshter probably playing All alone with You by Egoist as my friend, Skye sings along

Skye later changed to this costume of Reira from Nana as she sang along with Animenz

I can't recall the singer's name or the pianists but they did an amazing job especially with the singer's amazing operatic style

They performed quite a number of songs either solo, with other singers or sometimes, together. It was also amazing to watch them perform all the songs from memory!

It's hard to describe just how good they are so just look them up on youtube and be awed at their amazing talent. You can also find a number of videos of the concert, so check out my friend, Skye singing along with them.

Managed to find a video of them performing All Alone With You, so enjoy

And you can't miss this video of them performing Jiyuu no Tsubasa, the 2nd opening song of Shingeki no Kyojin aka Attack on Titan.

The videos are alittle shaky and the sound isn't perfect, but if you really wanna listen to them just search for their recorded home videos, the sound quality is so much better.
