Shingeki no Kyojin Hanji shoot

It's always fun assisting friends when they do their shoots. It's also kind of a "you-scratch my back, I scratch yours" kind of thing, as people are more willing to help you out too when you need some assistance.

This shoot was quite awhile back but nevertheless, I had fun exploring a bunch of abandoned colonial houses during the shoot and Rescend was on the ball as usual while Jo looked spot-on perfect as Hanji.

Setting up and I'm not quite sure what exactly I'm doing in this pic, being silly I guess haha

Posing for the cam!

What's a shoot without some omakes?

Here's an actual decent pic from the shoot

I was also a hand/arm dummy for this series of story shots. My short stubby fingers have finally come to good use!

The team behind the scenes

Spent the evening sampling Hanjo and Levi alcholic drinks that my friend, Serene, specially ordered from Japan. I think Hanji tasted kinda fruity while Levi had more of a tea taste to it.

Dangan Ronpa Shoot

Within the first 2 weeks of the year, I had 2 cosplay shoots. My first shoot was actually of Hime from Zone 00 as I wanted to return the costume and wig to Esther as soon as possible. My next shoot was the group shoot of Dangan Ronpa, unfortunately, most not all of the team were ready so we made do with a few missing members.

We had our shoot at one of the few abandoned locations in Singapore, so it was really dirty and run down but perfect for the look that we were going for.

Recosplaying Sayaka as the group already had a Junko

Friends and helpers that day. I met some new people and got to catch up with old friends, though I didn't manage to take pictures with all the helpers that were present. They did and invaluable job helping to move things around and holding things up for pictures.
Some of the group memebers getting ready, others were exploring the place or getting shots taken.

Amos and Daisy playing around

Guys being guys and doing all kinds of random crazy things once again
The 2 things that were made the most fun of during the shooting process, Sakura's "boobs" and Oowada's "hair"

Baguette!!! Nomnomnomnom
In case you were wondering, our Sakura is biologically male and a bodybuilder, which explains his physique.

Also explains his strength hahaha
Derping around with Byakuya who was playing with another cosplayer's skirt

There were 3 photographers with us that day so it resulted in a myriad of styles consisting of each photographer's interpretation of the characters. I haven't received the ones from Rescend yet as he shot on film but I did get these few:

By Fox Foo, we explored the location and found this "Tainted Memories" graffiti in a room. It was the perfect opportunity to explore Sayaka's desperation and change from a sweet young pop idol to becoming the first character to commit a murder in the entire series.
Also by Fox Foo, this was to show the protective relationship between Naegi and Sayaka

Group shot by Fox Foo

Group shot by Archie Kwa of Fringe & Film Photography

After all the group shots and solo shots had been done, Archie worked with us to recreate the famous deaths scenes in the game. It took considerable effort to get the posing done right and the "blood" got everywhere! We couldn't have done it without the massive load of help we got from the assistants that day.

I haven't gotten my picture of my death scene yet but here's one of Sakura. "Her" expression was captured perfectly:

Shall end this post with a super silly picture of me:

Literal "ovaries explosion" moment that I should think most fan girls have at the sight of their fictional crush

Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2013 Aftermath

Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2013 came and went extremely fast but I had a blast those 2 days though I was crazily trying to finish my day 1 cosplay stuff 2 weeks prior to the event. It was a lot of rushing and late nights but it was all worth it in the end.

I cosplayed from the Claymore series and to be exact, as the character Helen from the 7 Ghosts of the North arc. It happens after the anime ends so you only see their outfits in the manga.

Instagram pic of me before leaving Jo's house (she's our team leader) after preparations.

Full team picture, we put alot of hardwork into our swords and armours, even roping in Jo's boyfriend, Rescend, and a couple other friends to help us. Without them, I doubt we would have finished everything on time.
Credits of the photograph goes to William Tjhin

After all the chaos and hardwork of Day 1, I was glad to be able to cosplay something easier on Day 2. I cosplayed Junko Enoshima from the game/anime Dangan Ronpa. Sad thing was that there was a dozen other Junkos at the event (same with her twin, Mukuro) but I'm glad Mini suggested getting the crown to stand out from the Junko mass. She also gave me this packet of Monokuma sweets that she had gotten during her short trip to Japan. She also helped me to back comb my wig for that more crazy look

Some shots of me that day. Credit goes to Fox Foo for the pictures.

Camwhores with friends on both days. Unfortunately, I coudn't really use my phone on Day 1 due to my gloves and Day 2 my phone batt went flat and I forgot to bring an external charger so less pictures this time. The crowds were also insane, so I didn't get to see alot of friends through the day.

Was able to meet and take a picture with Reika again through sheer luck. Hooray!! Though I again got tongue-tied upon being up close with her.

I also met a cosplayer from overseas called JayEm, you may have seen his pictures floating around the internet as Ace from One Piece and Gray from Fairy Tail. He's famous for...well.... that body! The AFA management were actually pretty awed by his cosplay as Eren Titan form that they allowed him to pose inside the barriers surrounding the blow up Colossal Titan head! He's the only cosplayer to have been given that privilege and of course hordes of screaming fangirls were surrounding him.

I saw alot of wonderful cosplays those 2 days but I could only take a couple of pictures.

Fellow Claymore cosplayers!! That King Isley is really spectacular and he's the same cosplayer whom I met at a different event! My team is trying to get him to join us for our photoshoot.

Can't leave an event without taking pictures of Cvy and Kanasai-san, some of the most amazing local cosplayers. I truly aspire to reach their standard of cosplay someday. They are cosplaying playing cards from the famous illustrator, Saikizo. Can you imagine that all the stripes and plaid were individually hand sewn? Singapore doesn't offer cloth printing services and I saw their work in progress pictures through Facebook detailing their laborious process of creating these amazing costumes and meticulously styling their wigs.

My Claymore team were also filmed by 2 different people through the event. It's really an honour to be able to be part of these event films.

First video by Rescend. He wanted to capture my cosplay of Junko on Day 2 too, but by the time he found me, I had begun to remove my wig and accessories. Anyway, we did a little skit capturing our Claymore Characters' personalities. It was fun for me as Helen's crazy fun attitude allowed me to tease my team mate.

This video is by Calvin How from Malaysia. He was really happy to video us as Claymore was part of his to-film list of titles.

After Day 1's events, we also had a mini birthday celebration for Jo. This event is certainly one of my favourite events out of the many I've attended thus far. Now, I'm looking forward to attending Comic Fiesta in Kuala Lumpur next month. It's going to be my first event overseas! I'm still on the fence about attending End-of-year (EOY) event but I'll definitely keep you guys updated.

Shingeki no Kyojin Cosplay Photoshoot

Did a cosplay shoot for the incredibly popular series, Shingeki no Kyojin, also known as, Attack on Titan. Unfortunately, a lot of my stuff that I needed for the shoot were still incomplete or in the middle of the ocean on a ship, so I dug out what I had and made do. But I still think things went incredibly well as I had lots of help from a variety of people.

Cosplayed Annie, I'm very happy with the makeup I did for her that day, will do a tutorial in the future.

Towards evening, I changed and redid my makeup and became Crista or Historia, which ever name you're more used to.

Shinji kindly came down to help at the shoot at the last minute. Silly pic of him having fun while Mini poses for a picture. She's cosplaying as Levi/ Rivaille.

He also loaned me his amazing 3D Manoeuvring Gear as I wasn't able to make mine in time for the shoot. I have no idea what I was doing in this picture

Rescend doing what he does best

Posing with Esther, this pic came from her friend and helper, Jeremiah.

End of Shoot! And took this derpy picture with Rescend while we were waiting for dinner to be served. I hadn't removed my makeup when this pic was taken, hence the more intensive lashes.

Lots of love and help went into this shoot. I was starting to crack under the pressures of my job by then and was going nuts as I had the stress of the job combined with the stress of the shoot as a lot of things were incomplete. Luckily, a lot of people kindly helped me out with so many things that somehow everything magically worked out in the end. I'm bubbling with gratefulness to these people so I'm just gonna thank them all here:

Shinji: For loaning me the gears, suggesting an amazing location for the shoot, coming at the last moment to help out and doing pyrotechnics to create the smoky effects for the pictures.

Rescend: For being an amazing photographer and friend

Astellecia Skye: Loaning me the jacket that fit like a dream, skirting and straps

Esther: Being an encouraging friend, giving me the boots that I needed, loaning me a wig and  giving advice whenever needed

Mini: Helping to give the base layout for the 3D gears and straps

Selicia: Helping me to go shopping for the materials needed for the gears and suggestions for improvement

Jeremiah: Assisting in the shoot, offering suggestions for the pictures and posing and giving me the opportunity to be in your book

If you read all that, yes, Esther, Mini, Selicia and my Shingeki cosplay pictures will be published in a book produced by the talented people behind Collateral Damage Studios. It is a compilation of works including fanart centred around the Shingeki series and will be sold at the upcoming AFA event. The book is printed and shipped from USA and a cute keychain is sold together with it, so you can expect really good quality work. So please support and purchase one, thanks!!

To encourage you further, here's a sneak preview of one of the shots from the photoshoot. Its Rescend's and my personal favourite out of all the shots taken that day. This picture is completely unedited so pardon my chubby tummy, minor details will be edited in such as changing the logo to the Military version. But on the whole, it is a beautiful picture and I'm in awe that Rescend captured such an incredible shot that day.

Uta Prince All Stars Shoot

I just came home from another shoot that I'm itching to write about, but I'm once again behind on posts. I apologise for the delay in posts again and I'm trying really hard to catch up, but a lot of things have been happening in my life recently. I will sit down and write bout it once I get the chance, but for now, I'm gonna talk about the recent Uta Prince shoot I did.

On the way to the photographer's apartment, brought my squishy Mameshiba along for company
After makeup and changing into costume and wearing my wig! We did the all-star version
With Tessie as smexy Ren

With Kitska, she's cosplaying super lovable Natsuki, and some random person photobombing with their hand... think its Tessie LOL
Esther as super cute Syo!! Ah! How to resist her cuteness! I mean his... uh you get my drift... XD
With Mini, she's cosing straight-laced Masato. Tessie photobombing in the background with a hilariously derpy face

Mameshiba became friends with Kitska's Wooser toy! LOL
Some of our props for the day. We ripped apart fake roses to get the petals, it was pretty good for stress relief hahah

We did a lot of individual character shots as well as some concept ideas we had seen from illustrations and such. Midway through the shoot, Tessie, Kits and Mini changed to other Uta Prince characters.
Tessie transformed to Tokiya while Kits reappeared as Otoya!

Mini became Cecil once more. I think she looks really good as Cecil

Group camwhore after the entire shoot! Thanks a lot to our fantastic photographer William!

On the whole, the shoot was pretty laid back and fun. We're now trying to get a full team of Shining all Stars including the Senpais, so that we can do a huge group shoot in the future!

I'm still waiting for Esther and the rest to finish editing the pictures since my editing skills are pretty... umm... questionable hahaha, but in the mean time, have a look at these completed ones as a mini preview.

I've got plenty more posts to write about and since I will be having a little more spare time to do whatever I want for abit, it should allow me to update this blog more frequently soon. Just stick around and the next post will be up ASAP!
